Financing Packages - Rebates & Incentives - Tax Credits

Financing

To help you get started making your home energy efficient, Progressive offers financing for your upgrade package. Talk to your Sales Rep for details on low interest financing or short term same as cash financing.

Rebate Incentives

There are also rebates available - up to $4500 for customers of SoCal Edison and SoCal Gas - for upgrades that improve the overall efficiency of the home system. For example, if the upgrades performed on your home improve the projected energy efficiency over the tested base-line by 20%, there is an incentive to do the upgrade work of $2000; if the projected increase in efficiency is 40%, then the incentive is $4000. Those who live in Los Angeles County and achieve at least a 20% projected increase are eligible for an additional $500 from LA County. That's a total of $4,500 in incentive money available based on the projected performance of your house.

Tax Credit

The DOE is offering a $500 tax credit for energy efficient materials installed in your home during 2011 if you have not participated in prior tax credit incentives.

Here are the details.

As a result of the passing of the federal bill to extend tax cuts, there are new 2011 tax incentives to encourage homeowners to make energy efficient improvements to their homes.

Replacing windows and doors with energy efficient Infinity products qualifies for this tax credit!

Eligible windows and exterior doors need to be Energy Star qualified products as per the attached 2010 program as shown in the Infinity Bulletin.

Infinity from Marvin products with either high performance LoĒ2‐272® or LoĒ3‐366® glass qualify; in the Southern zone LoĒ3‐366® glass must be used.

How have the incentives changed?

  • Consumers can claim a credit of 10% up to $200 of the purchase price of qualifying windows,
  • Consumers can claim 10% up to $500 for qualifying exterior doors.
  • Installation costs are not included.
  • There is now a lifetime limit of $500 ($200 for windows) in total credits that a homeowner can claim from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2011.
  • It is not on top of the $1,500 limit in 2009-2010.
  • So if they have already reached or exceeded the $500 limit, they are no longer eligible to claim the credit in 2011.
  • The $500 aggregate lifetime limit is for any combination of all tax credit qualifying products (HVAC, insulation, roofing, etc), not just windows and exterior doors.
  • If they have claimed less than $500, they can claim the difference up to the $200 cap for the windows, and $500 for the exterior doors.
  • The revised tax credit is in effect for products installed in a consumer’s primary residence between January 1 and December 31, 2011.
